SUMMER NATURE CAMPS

Explore the magic of the northwest forest with its enchanting wild plants at Camp Terra, a unique nature camp for kids ages 4-12. This native plant sanctuary is five wooded acres on Old Mill Road in the heart of beautiful Vashon Island, Washington. Camp Terra provides an opportunity for children to immerse themselves in nature and provides a stimulating, hands-on approach to environmental education. Kids will learn the names of many native plants and animals, and how Vashon plants can be used for food and healing. The camp atmosphere is non-competitive, allowing group bonding and encouraging individual empowerment.

Nature girls in trees Activities include:

* Making herbal medicine and magic potions

If they opt to camp-out with us, you will drop them off at 10am on Wednesday and pick them up at 2:30pm on Thursday, giving yourself enough time to explore the trails and secret hide-outs with your kids. If your kids do not want to camp out, they are welcome to stay for the cook-out, until 8pm. You may then drop them back off at camp anytime after 9am on Thursday. We provide all cook-out food and breakfast the next morning.

Blackberry Faces "Elly is still talking about her week at Camp Terra. On her first day of camp she was a little unsure of meeting new girls but was very comfortable with Erin. When we talked the first evening about her day she said she could not wait until tomorrow. When asked why, she replied, 'I GET TO GO TO CAMP TERRA." She was ready to do her first camp out after the second day of camp. She talked about her experience with nettles and using plantain. We often take walks with other little girls and Mom's and Elly is always having them try fresh pine needles and salmon berries along the trail. She plans on coming back next year. I have been raving about this camp to all of the Mom's I know. Thank you again for a memorable and educational experience."

"Hi Erin and Emily: I just wanted to send you a heartfelt thank you for your time spent with Kincaid this past week. He really had such an amazing time with you both and seemed to get so much out of the entire experience. His reflections about his week and his energy/spirit as he talked about it just made my heart ache in the best of ways. I love that my boy truly engages with all of these moments and that he is so at home in the woods...he told me today that he is not putting shoes on until school starts!! Thanks again for providing our kids with this opportunity and for loving them so well while they are in it. We will be looking forward to next year."
